The Hotel and staff were excellent.

We had a bad experience with a wedding party making a noise until 2am in the morning which kept us from sleeping. I think we should have been given a room away from the wedding and guests at the wedding should have got rooms near to the wedding. We visited the hotel for a rest and relaxation not to be kept awake to that time in the morning. We were most disappointed, as our previous stay had been relaxing.

beautiful buildings , staff seemed to enjoy their work, excellent and unobtrusive service, very comfortable, and exceptionally quiet given its situation in the heart of Glasgow. Ideal for a special occasion

All the staff were first class, they were very accomodating and extremely pleasant without being in your face. Food was excellent and not too pricey. On arrival we were upgraded to a superior room at no extra cost. This hotel is a little different from the norm. Quirkey and fun.

The staff were very helpful and although restaurant/bistro were fully booked went out of their way to get us a table at a local restaurant. We then decided to change the time that we wanted to eat and again the staff were incredibly helpful and the restaurant they recommended was excellent value as well!!

Taff very very helpful, descreet and unasuming, The atmosphere was extremely relaxing. My husband does not comment about things very ofeten but he stated sevearl times he has never felt so relaxed. I would recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to get away from lifes bumps and chill out. We will be back.

There's nothing to dislike about One Devonshire. The hotel is situated in Glasgow's beautiful West End and in a magnificent Victorian terrace, immaculately restored. Great care has been taken to maintain the internal architectural features when converting the group of town houses into a hotel. Service is exemplary - Scottish at its best. Staff are relaxed and friendly without either being intrusive or fawning. Just warm and professional. The traditional Scottish breakfasts are delicious. And the bedrooms want for nothing; sumptious sofas and comfortable beds, power showers and deep double ended baths. I could have stayed happily for a month.

It seems churlish to raise any complaints about such a lovely hotel. But this is a box for suggestions so here are a couple. If I had been designing the interiors I wouldn't have made the bathroom open to the bedroom without a door as it was in my otherwise lovely pair of rooms. Some moments of the day should remain private even between the most intimate couples.....The bathroom could be reconfigured to rectify this (and restore the original ceiling height in the process.) Also, and this is a minor thought, I'd drop the slightly contrived sounding room names or replace them with something a little more Glaswegian, as the hotel is so very Scottish in atmosphere. Finally the breakfast is so good, why don't you cap it with home made jams and marmalade? Glasgow is full of jam making grannies with time on their hands.

The general aura of the hotel--friendly staff--a bit old fashioned but very pleaseant.

    Layout--its a bit of a maze

Very nice reception beautiful building. Room was very reasonable and concierge were extremely friendly and helpful.

The restaurant was a disappointment not up to the standards expected. I tipped them at the table. They then added an additional service charge, which I felt should have been explained. Bland food. Beautiful surroundings and atmosphere.

The staff were excelelnt and very sensitive to needs in a unobtrusive way.

The staff were very attentive and extremely helpful friendly and went the extra mile to help. Room was lovely and bed very comfortable. We were made to feel very welcome and won't stay anywhere else when we go to Glasgow.

Friendly Hotel staff and concierge who took our case to our room, big comfortable bed and pillows, tv and iPod Dock, large Bathroom with Bath and Rain Shower, Bath Robes and lovely set of Toiletries left in the Bathroom.

The lightning in the room could be brighter - it was very dark even with the dimmer up full and I couldn't find a plug socket near a mirror for plugging my straighteners in without moving one of the lamps beside the bed to the floor.

  • Older travelers

Excellent service and relaxing atmosphere in ideeal luxury surroundings all of an excellent standard

  • Older travelers
    7.0

Convenience of location for access to city centre shops and sights. Friendliness of staff. Good food.

The structure of the hotel makes access to the various features such as bars and restaurant potentially awkward for any guests with mobility problems. Parking is on-street and can be some distance from reception.
